Democrats have vowed to fight Trump officials’ plan to withhold some Epstein files, calling it a violation of federal law.

House Oversight Committee ranking member Robert Garcia and House Judiciary Committee ranking member Jamie Raskin condemned what they described as the Trump administration’s decision to defy the Epstein Files Transparency Act by refusing to release all the files.

They accused Donald Trump and the Department of Justice of continuing to cover up facts and evidence related to Jeffrey Epstein’s decades-long, billion-dollar international sex trafficking ring, while Pam Bondi has denied survivors transparency, defied a congressional subpoena, and the DOJ has signalled it will defy Congress even as it gives favourable treatment to Ghislaine Maxwell.

The lawmakers noted that courts across the country have repeatedly stepped in when the administration has broken the law. They said they are examining all legal options, stressing that survivors deserve justice, co-conspirators must be held accountable, and the American people deserve full transparency from the Department of Justice.
