Ukrainian partisans say widespread Starlink failures within Russian forces have severely disrupted battlefield command, triggering chaos and deadly friendly-fire incidents.

The Atesh movement reports that units in eastern and southern Ukraine are struggling to communicate after losing access to the satellite network, leaving commanders unable to direct their troops.

Sources from Russian regiments near Kupyansk and in the Zaporizhzhia region claim command structures have been effectively paralysed, with backup systems failing and electronic warfare equipment even jamming their own radios.

In one reported case, a total communications collapse in Zaporizhzhia led Russian units to mistakenly fire on their own forces, destroying an assault group of 12 soldiers.

According to Atesh and Ukrainian experts, Russia’s reliance on civilian technology has backfired, as the loss of Starlink has crippled coordination across much of the front line.
