A United States aircraft carrier strike group is moving toward the Gulf amid rising tensions with Iran, as Trump boasts about and armada.
The last major US military buildup in the Middle East occurred in June, shortly before Washington struck three Iranian nuclear sites during Israel’s 12-day conflict with Tehran.
Earlier this month, President Donald Trump publicly supported anti-government protesters in Iran but later softened his military rhetoric as the demonstrations were suppressed. Trump has since confirmed that a large US naval force, including an aircraft carrier and multiple warships, is heading toward the region with Iran as its focus.
US officials say the deployment includes advanced missile-capable vessels and air-defence systems intended to deter or respond to potential Iranian attacks. The move has raised suspicions that the United States is preparing for another possible military strike against Iran.
