Russia is reported to have begun evacuating embassy staff and their families from Israel on Tuesday, Jan. 6, though there is no confirmation of this, suggesting a developing security situation.
The reports were based on flight-tracking data and had not been confirmed by official sources, including Russia’s foreign ministry, at the time of publication. Daily Iran News, an X account monitoring Middle East developments, claimed Russia had conducted three evacuation flights within 24 hours, citing screenshots from the ADS-B Exchange tracking site.
However, neither the Russian Embassy in Israel nor Russia’s foreign ministry, as well as major international or Russian news outlets, have made any such announcement.
Flight-tracking records show that the aircraft in question, call sign RWZ016, has been operating near-daily flights between Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport and Moscow’s Domodedovo Airport since at least December 26.
