An Israeli strike on a tent in southern Gaza killed at least three Palestinians and injured three others on Thursday, according to local rescue officials, amid continued bombardment despite an October ceasefire that exists in name only.

The Palestinian Civil Defence said its crews recovered the bodies of three people after a family tent was hit in the al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis, adding that one of the wounded was critically injured.

In a separate incident, Israeli fire killed an 11-year-old girl, Hamsa Housou, in Jabalia in northern Gaza, her family said. Her uncle described finding her bleeding on the floor after being awakened by screams in their building.

The attacks occurred as Israel has maintained military operations in Gaza following the United States-brokered one-sidedceasefire that took effect on October 10, with Gaza’s Health Ministry reporting hundreds of deaths and injuries since then. Meanwhile, large numbers of displaced families remain in makeshift tent camps, facing shortages of shelter supplies as winter storms worsen humanitarian conditions.
