Since early October, Israel has reportedly violated the so-called Gaza ceasefire nearly 1,000 times, as attacks across Gaza continue with shelling, gunfire, and air strikes. Over the past two years, more than 71,271 Palestinians have been killed and at least 171,233 wounded amid Israel’s war on Gaza.
Winter conditions have worsened the crisis, with children dying from cold exposure and others killed when storms and strong winds caused buildings to collapse. The Shelter Cluster reported that between 10 and 17 December 2025, more than 42,000 tents and makeshift shelters were damaged, impacting nearly a quarter of a million people.
More than 50 NGOs and several countries have condemned Israel’s restrictions on humanitarian aid, calling them violations of the US-brokered ceasefire. Aid groups, including Doctors Without Borders, warn that banning organisations from operating in Gaza and the West Bank would have devastating consequences and cut hundreds of thousands off from essential care.
