President Trump is expected to host Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at Mar-a-Lago on Sunday as both sides seek agreement on a U.S.-backed peace plan, according to Ukrainian officials.

The potential meeting signals notable progress, as Trump has said he would only meet Zelensky if a deal were close. Zelensky confirmed the Sunday meeting, saying roughly 90% of Trump’s proposal had been agreed upon, though he stopped short of saying any documents would be signed.

The White House declined to comment, while Zelensky said the talks could lead to major decisions before the New Year. The meeting follows recent Florida discussions involving Trump advisers Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner and negotiators from Ukraine and Russia, which a senior U.S. official described as positive and constructive. Zelensky said talks continued through Christmas, stressing round-the-clock efforts to end the war and ensure any agreements are realistic and effective.

Meanwhile, Russia continues to bombard Ukraine, particularly Kyiv, and to make incremental gains on the battleground in the Donbas.
