Activists vandalised Christmas decorations at a diocesan school and a shop in Assam’s Nalbari on Christmas Eve, in the latest of several disruptions reported across India this past week. Police confirmed receiving a complaint from St. Mary’s English School and said an investigation is underway, The Indian Express reported.

In Chhattisgarh, a mob of 80–90 people armed with sticks vandalised Christmas installations at Raipur’s Magneto Mall during a statewide bandh called over alleged religious conversions, though no arrests have been made. In Madhya Pradesh, BJP leader Anju Bhargava allegedly manhandled a visually impaired woman at a church in Jabalpur, prompting a show-cause notice from the party, though police have not registered a case.

Jabalpur also saw another church service disrupted when members of a right-wing group allegedly stormed in chanting slogans, leading to detentions and an ongoing inquiry. In Rajasthan’s Sri Ganganagar, the education department directed schools not to force children to dress as Santa Claus, citing the area’s religious demographics. Separately, a video from Delhi showed women wearing Santa caps being heckled in Lajpat Nagar, though police described the incident as a brief, isolated verbal dispute resolved on the spot.

Meanwhile, in China church members and clergy are facing harassment to such an extent that services are being held in secret in homes.
