US President Donald Trump unleashed a fiery attack on Democratic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar and Somali migrants during a Pennsylvania rally on Tuesday, which was part of a new series of stops ahead of the 2026 midterms aimed at addressing Americans’ cost-of-living concerns.

Speaking in Mount Pocono for 90 minutes, Trump criticised Omar personally and vowed to block migrants from Somalia and other “third world” countries, echoing recent remarks labelling Somali migrants in Minnesota as “garbage” amid a reported fraud scandal.

He accused Omar of marrying her brother to enter the U.S. illegally and urged, amid cheers, that she be expelled, while mocking her appearance and claiming she contributes nothing but complaints. Trump also highlighted his administration’s moves to pause migration from countries including Afghanistan, Haiti, and Somalia, citing national security concerns after a shooting targeting National Guard members in Washington, D.C. He argued that the U.S. should reject anyone who does not share American values, contribute to the economy, or assimilate into society, framing his stance as protecting the country’s interests.

Throughout the rally, Trump combined policy announcements with personal attacks, portraying migration from certain nations as a threat and emphasising his vision of strict immigration enforcement.
