As Israeli forces continue offensive operations in Palestine and Lebanon, Syria’s UN representative Ibrahim Olabi condemned Israel’s recent attack on the southern town of Beit Jinn, which killed 13 people including children, calling it evidence of Israel’s disregard for international law and fear of a stronger Syria.

“This is yet another indication of which country in the region abides by international law and which doesn’t,” Olabi told Al Jazeera. He described the strike as a warning to Syria and its allies and said it reflects Israel’s anxiety over Syria’s growing regional and international prominence.

The attack drew sharp criticism from Gulf Arab states. Qatar called it a violation of Syrian sovereignty that “deepens tensions and undermines efforts to achieve security and stability in the region.” Saudi Arabia condemned the strike as an attempt to undermine Syria’s security, and Kuwait described it as part of “Israel’s destabilising approach” that threatens regional stability.
