Heavy winter rains have flooded makeshift camps across Gaza, destroying thousands of tents and deepening the hardship for displaced families already struggling with limited aid.
In Deir al Balah, residents spent the morning clearing muddy water from their shelters after a night of relentless downpours. Some fragile structures made of wood and metal collapsed under the weight of the rain, forcing parents to carry their children through rising water to safer areas.
Roads around the camps turned into streams, making movement and access to help even more difficult. Aid groups and the UN warn that overflowing sewage pits and insufficient humanitarian supplies are worsening an already dire situation for Gaza’s population.
